The South Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles now has a page on its website addressing issues of parking for people with disabilities.  In general, disabled parking permits are issued to persons with disabilities or organizations that transport persons with disabilities. Use of designated accessible parking is permitted only for a person with a disability or a driver of a person with a disability with a SCDMV disabled parking placard or license plate. Qualified persons may apply and obtain forms for disabled parking placards or plates at any SCDMV office.
