Research Studies
Spinal Cord Injury Research Protocols
The McGuire Veterans Administration Medical Center in Richmond, Virginia, is conducting several research studies invovling individuals with spinal cord injuries. Their major focus is understanding the changes in body composition (muscle, bone, and fat) that occur after spinal cord injury, and how people can improve their health by understanding their own body composition. Individuals who are C5 - L2 qualify and will be compensated $110 for their time. Each person participating in the research study will receive a report on his or her body composition results and what it means to their health.
The Energy Balance Study
The purpose of the study is to better understand why people are gaining weight. You will be providing information that can be used to develop programs that will help create effective strategies and policies that will improve the health of our community.
